CHURCH OF THE PALMS SARASOTA
The Church Of The Palms in Sarrasota is a large and diverse campus with a vision to grow. We were honored to design and install the lighting for the Campus Center Sanctuary which serves as the casual more modern aspect of COP’s worship program. We were asked to design a lighting system that would leave room for future growth. Starting from scratch since there wasn’t much lighting it was an open palette. Having a color wash on both the stage and the backwall were options that the Church wanted. Along with some conventional ellipsoidal fixtures we were able to offer a very economical solution. For control we used the Show Designer 1 from Elation which the staff has found very easy to use. Lightronics dimmer packs and ellipsoidal fixtures were used for their performance and longevity (5 year warranty). American DJ Mega Bar Pros were used for the wall wash and the FLAT PAR TRI18s were used for the stage color wash (4 fixtures washed a 40′ stage from 30′ in the air). Plans are in the works for an architectural dimmer system for the exsisting house lights in the next phase.
